About Digital Learning and Leadership
Global Kids’ Digital Learning & Leadership (DLL) program (formerly known as the Online Leadership Program) leverages technology and digital media tools to teach leadership skills and to promote local and global community building opportunities for high school, middle school and elementary school students.
Global Kids' DLL program aims to close the digital skills gap for youth in underserved communities.
In a fun and engaging learning environment, the students use open source tech tools, including Raspberry Pi and Scratch, to create socially-conscious projects for their communities and the world, while building a lasting interest in computer science and technology fields that are critical to success in today’s economy.
About Global Kids
Global Kids, Inc. is the premier nonprofit educational organization for global learning and youth development that ensures that youth from underserved areas have the knowledge, skills, experiences and values they need to succeed in school, participate effectively in the democratic process, and achieve leadership in their communities and on the global stage.
Global Kids reaches over 2,000 middle schoolers and high schoolers, "GK Leaders," each week in New York City and Washington, DC through its in-school and out-of-school global education, social action, digital media, and service-learning programs.
Founded in 1989, Global Kids seeks to address the lack of global education and leadership opportunities for youth from neighborhoods whose ethnic groups are largely underrepresented academically, politically and professionally.
